What is an Aadhar Card?

The Aadhar Card is actually an ID card given by the Government. It contains:

  • A 12-significant digital number called UID.
  • Your biometric details, such as fingerprints & eye scan.

5. Acknowledgment Slip: After performing the above steps, you will receive a slip with an EID (Enrollment ID).

Documents Required for Aadhaar Card

Below are the documents accepted & required:

  • Proof of Identity (POI): Passport, PAN card, voter ID & driving license are required for identification. 
  • Proof of Address (POA): Bank statement, electricity bill, ration card & rental agreement are also needed.
  • Proof of Date of Birth: Birth certificate &  SSLC certificate.

My Aadhaar Login

The Aadhar login process through the MyAadhar Portal website lets you safely use card services. You need to enter your 12-digit number & OPT. The OPT is sent to your registered phone number.   • Enter your 12-digit number of Aadharr Card or virtual ID (VID).

After login in, you can do these 3 following things:

Download Aadhaar (e Aadhar)

  • Enter your details, your 12-digit Aadhar number, 16-digit
  • Enrollment ID (EID) & 28-digit Virtual ID (VID) correctly
  • In case you have no Aadhaar, use EID or VID
  • Security code (captcha) is shown on your screen

Enter OPT

  • You will receive OPT on your registered mobile number
  • Enter one-time password & proceed

PDF File Download

  • Use the first 4 letters of your name in CAPITAL form with your birth year as a password.
  • Your Aadhaar Card will be safely downloaded on your device.
  • The downloaded file is password-protected.

Check Enrolment or Update Status

After applying for a new Aadhaar card & if you want to make changes in existing details, it’s an important step to check the application status.

Steps to Check Status Online

Enter EID or URN

  • Type your Enrollment ID Number & Update Request number
  • Enter the captcha code carefully shown on the screen
  • Click on the check status button.
  • The portal will display the status on your mobile.

What You’ll See

  • If your Aadhaar card is successfully created, the page will display that your Aadhaar number has been generated.
  • In a situation of progress status will show Under process.

Check Enrolment or Update Status via Toll-Free Number (1947)

You can also check your status by calling UIDIA’s toll-free helpline. Call on helpline based on the following steps:

  • Dial 1947 from your registered mobile number.
  • Choose your language.
  • Select the service you require.
  • Enter your 28-digit Enrolment ID (EID) or Update Request Number (URN) when asked.
  • Follow IVR instructions to hear your status.
  • Before calling, make sure your number is registered with UIDIA.

Document Update

If any of your Aadhaar details, such as your name, address, gender & phone number, are incorrect or have changed, you can easily update them online.

Login Step

  • Type your 12-digit Aadhaar number.
  • You will receive OPT on your registered number.

Select “Update Aadhaar”

  • Choose the specific information option you want to change, such as address, name, date of birth & gender.
  • Ensure you have valid documents, Proof of Identity (PoI) & Proof of Address (PoA)..

Upload Documents

  • Upload the scanned copy of the documents.

Review and Submit

  • Confirm all the details carefully.
  • After submitting the request details, note down or save your Update Request Number URN  for future reference & tracking.

Track Status: To track the process of the request, use your URN on the portal.

How to Update Your Mobile Number in Aadhaar

  • Go to the nearest Aadhaar enrollment center.
  • Provide your Aadhaar number & the new mobile number you want to link.
  • Complete the biometric verification process for identity confirmation.
  • No documents & old mobile number are required for this process.

  • You’ll receive a confirmation message once your mobile number has been successfully updated in the Aadhaar database.

Generate Virtual ID (VID)

A virtual ID is a temporary 16-digit number that anyone can use instead of an Aadhaar number for online verification purposes or KYC Services. It helps to protect your privacy of the Aadhaar Number by allowing you to share your VID. 

Steps to Generate Your Virtual ID (VID)

  • Enter Adhaar Number with security code (captcha).
  • Click on send OPT & received code on your phone device.
  • Select Generate New ID or existing Retrieve VID.
  • Your new virtual ID will be sent on registered your phone number via SMS.

  • Enter your 28-digit number Service Request Number (SRN) that you received after payment.
  • Type Chapta code & submit.
  • The system will show the status of your PVC. Whether it’s under process, printed, or dispatched.
  • After dispatch, you can track the delivery through the Indian post tracking link available on the same page.

Important Note: Don’t share SRN with anyone. Keep it safe until you receive the PVC Card.
Delivery usually takes 5 to 10 working days, depending on the location.

Aadhaar

Aahaar is a 12-digit unique ID number given to people living in India.
